ظاهرة السحب القزحية هي عبارة ظهور مسحات لونية على السحب وقد تتكون ألوان الطيف السبعة على صفحة السماء في وقت واحد.
وتحدث هذه الظاهرة الفيزيائية عندما تتكون هذه السحب من قطيرات مائية لها نفس الحجم تقريبا،
و حين تكون الشمس في موقع مناسب مختبئة في معظمها خلف السحب السميكة تعمل السحب الرقيقة على انكسار الضوء بطريقة متناسقة ينتج عنها ظهور ألوان بمقادير متفاوتة ،
فيرى الناظر مجموعة لونية قادمة من اتجاهات متعددة. وعادة ما يبدأ تشكل السحب بكتل متناسقة وتركيبات موحدة تظهر هذه القزحية،
لكنها سرعان ما تزداد سمكا أو تختلط وتتداخل بنيتها أو تكون بعيدة جدا من الشمس لتشكل هذا العرض الملون الأخاذ .
تم التقاط صورة السحابة المزركشة بالألوان القزحية أعلاه من ارتفاع6.600 م -وراء قمة تامسركو في جبال الهمالايا بنيبال سنة 2009.
