These machines don't work anyway and are just another way to line some defense contractor and/or political cronie's pockets. A dog would surely have detected the explosives in that guy's underwear, but a machine would probably not have.If gubment actually wanted to protect people by detecting explosives, they would use specially trained dogs to sniff every bag, passenger, and airline employee. Anyone who does not want to consent to a sniff by the dog gets to go for an interview and a full pat-down body search. But there's more $$$ to be made in developing an x-ray machine- even one that doesn't work.Former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who has been all over the cable news shows promoting full-body scanners for airports, deserves to be criticized and his motives questioned for not disclosing the fact his Security counseling agency represents a client that manufactures those scanners. By using his former position for private monetary gain is a violation of the public's trust.That money would not only be better spent on developing more effective Security methods it would save the traveling public from being humiliated and/or traumatized unnecessarily and more importantly it would eliminate accumulated radiation health risks,Jordan Breds 11.Keeping the public safe is important, but doing "something, anything" for appearance sake is not the same as fixing the problem.Since the "terrorists" are always one step ahead of us, they knew we had very little detection abilities for PETN "ON" the body.
