I lastly gave up on the double clicking method, went into itunes itself and clicked file, add file to library and chosen the suitable file. I then found it in itunes. Typically it could give you the ! button subsequent to it when i attempted to play it saying it couldnt find the file so i clicked on the locate it button and searched for it manually again. I then synced my telephone and it worked.
