ظاهرة تحدث بسبب التفاوت الكبير في درجات الحرارة، بين طبقات الجو العليا والسطحية وتتكون مع عاصفة رعدية مطرية، تزيد فيها سرعة الرياح أحياناً عن 80 كيلومتراً في الساعة.. * ؤ أن العاصفة خطيرة عند حدوثها في البحر، فيمكنها أن تقلب القوارب وتتسبب بأضرار فادحة كبيرة، عند وصولها اليابسة، و غالبا عمرها قصير ففترة تكونها وانتهائها تتراوح بين 4-15 دقيقة. * |
